"The Scandi bob or Nordic bob is a short, clean-cut bob inspired by the effortless, minimalist aesthetic associated with Scandinavian style," says hairstylist and Brazil Edition founder Rogério Cavalcante . "It typically falls somewhere between the jaw and chin, with a strong, blunt-looking perimeter and minimal visible layering." 

Another key detail? The Scandi bob doesn't shy away from messy texture. When it comes to styling, the more undone, the better. "Rather than looking extremely sleek or meticulously styled, it's usually worn with natural movement, a little volume, and an intentionally relaxed finish," adds Cavalcante. "A signature detail is the side flip: Instead of a rigid part, the hair is casually flipped from one side to the other, creating instant volume at the roots."

Minimalist beauty has taken over in recent years, making the Scandi bob a popular choice for both celebs and salon clients. According to hairstylist Marcos Diaz , the simple hairstyle shows no sign of slowing down. 

"We have seen so many highly layered and heavily styled cuts in the past, and the Scandi bob is almost the opposite of that," Diaz says. "It has a very clean, modern silhouette, but it can still feel undone and cool. I also love that it works with the person, rather than overpowering them. You notice the face, the clothes and the overall image instead of immediately noticing a complicated hairstyle. That kind of restraint feels very modern."

"Nothing looks more chic than a full blunt bob," says Cavalcante. "Keeping the perimeter blunt can make fine hair appear noticeably thicker and denser." This style works especially well on straight and fine strands. To get the look, Cavalcante recommends starting with a rough dry on hair, followed by flat ironing throughout for an extra-sleek finish.

Start by adding some waves, alternating between a curling iron and waving iron, which will give your strands a more natural, lived-in finish. The next day, freshen up your day-two hair with some dry shampoo and texturizing spray.
