These $15 Toner Pads Take Skin From ‘Pores-Galore’ To Soft, Smooth And Glowing

Medicube's 'Zero Pore' Mild Pads Are $15

Exfoliation  can be a powerful addition to any skincare routine, especially for mature skin. In previous HuffPost reporting , estheticians said the process doesn't just "reveal brighter and more rejuvenated skin" — it may actually help reduce the appearance of pores, lines and wrinkles. While this may make you want to reach for a heavy-duty scrubber, the same estheticians told HuffPost that when it comes to exfoliation —  less is more . If you're looking to ease your way into exfoliation,  Medicube's beloved "Zero Pore" pads in mild  are a great place to start — particularly when they're  20% off for Prime Members for the first time since May.

Intended for soft but still serious exfoliation — users call Medicube " the most gentle toner pad"  they've ever used and a " Menopausal Skin Savior! " that still could be named " Pores, Be Gone!

These mild on-sale pads are effective, but gentle.

According to the brand, the 70 pre-soaked, double-sided mild pads are physically softer and less harsh than other options on the market. Not only that, the toner the pads are soaked in is specially designed for gentler exfoliation, infused with soothing lavender, hydrating hyaluronic acid and a variety of plant extracts. Yet, don't be fooled by the mild or gentle wording; fans say these babies really do what they're supposed to in terms of softening, smoothing and soothing.

"This is not just a toner pad. This is a calm, controlled, K-beauty mic drop for your skin," one shopper wrote. "...One swipe in and you immediately feel it: clean, refreshed, soothed—not stripped, not angry, not screaming for moisturizer."

The brand says to use the pads after cleansing your face, starting with the embossed side to remove dead skin cells, then following with the smooth side, to tone and pat dry. While reviewers debate if there's no scent or a light "clean" scent , everyone seems to agree, the pads leave you with " baby-smooth skin , visibly more refined pores and that glassy, balanced finish that makes serums and makeup sit better instantly."

The magic is the " polyhydroxy acid"  exfoliant, which is thought to be less  aggravating to the skin than other common chemical exfoliants  (while still wildly effective!), according to previous health reporting.

As board-certified dermatologist  Dr. Lindsey Zubritsky  previously told HuffPost,  over -exfoliation can lead to a  damaged and unhealthy skin barrier,  "which can cause dryness, irritation, redness, more acne or eczema breakouts and even worsening of hyperpigmentation and wrinkles." The key to correctly doing it? "Be gentle," Dr. Zubritsky said.

Gentle physically and chemically, the brand says these mild pads are ideal for users with sensitive skin, who are new to exfoliating or just prefer mild products on their face.

"Love how my skin feels after using," another wrote. "I feel like I definitely can see the difference in pore size and texture while using this. So effective!"

(Note: these pads can't literally shrink the size of your pores (as  dermatologists  have told HuffPost, ********* can) , but fans agree the pads improve the overall appearance of pores on their skin.)

As  one user jokes , these mild pads "is what happens when exfoliation grows up, gets polite, and actually listens to sensitive skin."

Reviewers with oily skin and redness who are prone to breakouts say the pads "actually help" with reducing the appearance of pores, evening their skin tone and texture — sans irritation. Another with " dull, dry and sensitive skin ," credits the pads for giving them a bright, smooth and clear "glass skin" look — something they previously thought was impossible.

Others going through menopause and " hormone-induced skin sensitivity " call the pads a "5-star product" for anyone with skin concerns. "They provide such a soothing effect on my skin irritation, leaving it wonderfully soft, even, and smooth," one wrote. "What I love most is that they don't leave any sticky residue or make my skin feel dry, which is a common issue for me."

"I'm 62 with combo, but mostly dry skin, and have pores-galore. But I also have a fair amount of rosacea and am sensitive to quite a few skin products," another wrote. "I wanted the efficacy of the original 2.0 pore pads but thought I should try the mild first. I've used it now for a week straight and really, really happy with it....My skin feels so soft and smoothe, and has a glow about it."

" I'm 62 with combo, but mostly dry skin, and have pores-galore. But I also have a fair amount of roseacea and sensitve to quite a few skin products. I wanted the efficacy of the original 2.0 pore pads but thought I should try the mild first. I've used it now for a week straight and really, really happy with it.I've been taking photos daily and englarging them to follow the progress on my pores, and they are shrinking, and just as important, smoothing. My skin feels feels so soft and smoothe, and has a glow about it. At first I was going to use it every-other day, but after applying it the first time, decided to use it daily, and is just fine.." — Rainy-Daze

"This is not just a toner pad. This is a calm, controlled, K-beauty mic drop for your skin. The Medicube Zero Pore Pad Mild 2.0 is what happens when exfoliation grows up, gets polite, and actually listens to sensitive skin. One swipe in and you immediately feel it: clean, refreshed, soothed—not stripped, not angry, not screaming for moisturizer. These pads are perfectly soaked (not dripping, not dry) with a gentle, calming formula designed to minimize the look of pores, smooth texture, and lightly exfoliate without wrecking your skin barrier. The texture is genius: subtle enough for daily use, effective enough that your skin actually changes.

This rice water- and ceramide-rich serum

This serum is a personal favorite of mine for hydration during the winter because it features ingredients like redness-calming beta glucan, honey extract, seven types of rice extract, and arbutin to brighten dark spots. It has an elastic-type of consistency that feels really rich when you apply it, but it sinks into the skin beautifully and keeps my skin hydrated all day long.
Promising review:"Earlier this year, I had to start using benzoyl peroxide to get my acne under control, which made my oily skin red, irritated, and flaky. I needed something super hydrating and soothing to counteract it, landed on this serum, and I'm so glad I did. It's thick but not sticky, super hydrating, and calmed my skin right down. I'm using it 2x daily along with a peptide serum, very happy with the results. This has earned a permanent spot in my skincare routine." — Ulta customer
