Back-to-School Season Is Almost Here, and Sam’s Club Has Discounts on All the Essentials

As students prepare for fall, Sam's Club has launched a wave of back‑to‑school and tech promotions tailored for both online and in‑store shoppers. The retailer's Instant Savings Event, which runs from July  23 – Aug. 17,  features markdowns across categories — from laptops and tablets to snacks and supplies — alongside a broader "Locked‑in Summer Value" campaign offering discounts on everything from lunch boxes to kids' clothing.

Among the standout offers are $130 off the HP 15.6″ Windows 11 touchscreen laptop , $500 off Samsung's 65″ Neo QLED TV and select tablets starting at just $99. Shoppers can also find bulk-value pricing on lunchbox staples like Gatorade and Goldfish, alongside markdowns on headphones, backpacks and dorm-ready small appliances. A Sam's Club membership is required to access these deals, with two annual tiers available: Club and Plus. The Club membership costs $50 a year and includes access to all in-store and online savings, members-only fuel prices and a complimentary card for a second household member. However, the Plus membership offers the best value. For $110/month, it builds on those benefits with free shipping, early shopping hours, curbside pickup, pharmacy and optical savings and 2% back in Sam's Cash on qualifying purchases, up to $500 per year. For households making regular bulk purchases, the cashback alone can offset the membership fee.

Sam's Club has also leaned into convenience tech to stay competitive. The Scan & Go feature, which lets users check out directly from their smartphones, and Just Go Checkout, the chain's answer to Amazon-style frictionless shopping, have made in-store experiences faster and more seamless. For Plus members, the option to order online and pick up curbside (with no additional fee), has become an increasingly valuable perk, especially amid the hectic back-to-school season.
