Early this year, I delved into the details of Böker's revamped Rockstub , which improved upon a proven design.

The brand clearly believes in this EDC knife too, as indicated by the fact it isn't quite done iterating upon it.

The handle treatment of the Böker Plus Rockstub Blue Elox is what really shines (literally) this go-round.

Just blue it

The headline feature is the shimmering blue finish Böker brings to the ergonomic scales, giving the light, tough aluminum material a head-turning new look.

That treatment takes nothing away from the business end, a 2.64-inch stonewashed drop-point blade made of 14C28N steel.

This affordable material is valued for its edge performance, corrosion resistance and toughness.

The size, shape and material make it ideal for tackling a range of carving, peeling, slicing and cutting everyday tasks.

A decorative ricasso adds to the Rockstub's aesthetic appeal, while the ambidextrous thumb studs make deployment easy.

The knife also boasts a crossbar lock , which not only makes one-handed retraction swift and smooth but also serves as a secondary deployment mechanism.

A reversible deep-carry tip-up clip and a lanyard hole make it easy to tote in your pocket or attach to a keychain, necklace or pack.

It all adds up to a welcome 3.07-ounce addition to your EDC loadout, at a price that's tough to beat.
