Though it has only been in the knife making business since last year, the Ashland, Oregon-based brand best known for sharpening tools has already demonstrated EDC mastery.
While its first knives uniquely offered the ability to swap between automatic and manual deployment , Work Sharp has since widened its appeal with more classic silhouettes.

So it is that we've seen the popular RMX series take on a number of sizes and shapes, as well as adding a thumb stud for more traditional functionality.
The evolution reaches its potential apex today with the drop of the new RMX Thumbstud Reverse Tanto , which incorporates fan feedback to deliver a real crowd pleaser.
Checking all the boxes
See, while the RMX has previously appeared with a thumbstud and with a reverse tanto blade , we've never gotten both coveted qualities in the same knife.
Now it's here, as the new release boasts a 3.2-inch reverse tanto blade made of CPM 3V steel, prized for its toughness, wear resistance and edge retention.

This particular shape not only looks cool; it puts a thin, slicey edge in front of a spine with heavy metal where it matters, offering potent piercing and cutting capability.

Meanwhile, Work Sharp pointedly drills into the blade to add the triangular, ambidextrous thumb stud, which offers straightforward one-handed deployment, over and over again.
Retracting the blade is just as swift, thanks to the precision-engineered button lock, which offers some of the smoothest action I've yet encountered.

As is the case with previous offerings, this new knife's integral handle is equally notable: a single piece of magnesium with a Cerakote finish for added corrosion resistance.
The simplicity here not only decreases maintenance but lightens weight, helping the whole package weigh in at a fairly feathery 2.4 ounces.

Rounding out the appeal is a reversible deep carry pocket clip, which can be removed if you'd prefer a lanyard hole.
The only real choice to make then, is whether to opt for a black or burnt bronze handle.
