Your coffee is getting cuter: Hello Kitty arrives at Starbucks for the holiday season
The global icon who has delighted fans across the globe for decades is coming to Starbucks for the holiday season to celebrate friendship.
Starbucks coffeehouses across the United States and Canada will be offering their own Hello Kitty merchandise collection starting Nov. 6 while supplies last, the company said in a press release.
The exclusive collection will feature an array of items and collectibles, including a Hello Kitty plush dressed in the iconic Starbucks green apron and her signature red bow alongside her cuddly teddy bear, Tiny Chum. The boxed plush will cost $34.95.
Customers can also purchase a 16-ounce ceramic mug or a 26-ounce stainless steel cold cup featuring a Hello Kitty design topped with a red silicone bow for $32.95.
Other items include a 20-ounce stainless steel water bottle for $29.95, the 24-ounce cold cup for $29.95 and the 12-ounce stainless steel tumbler for $32.95.
"For more than 50 years, Hello Kitty has resonated across cultures and generations," Jill Kioch, the senior vice president for Brand Management and Marketing at Sanrio, Inc., said in the statement. "Her simple design, positive message, and timeless appeal invite people everywhere to express themselves and celebrate friendship, kindness, and inclusivity."
Both Starbucks and Hello Kitty were born in the 1970s, with Hello Kitty being introduced in 1974 and Starbucks in 1971, according to the press release.
"We're excited to bring back that nostalgic vibe with this special collaboration this holiday season," Director of U.S. Merchandise for Starbucks Kap Pitarys said. "Whether you're looking for a gift for a friend or a little something for yourself, this collection makes everyday moments feel a little more joyful and every gift a little more personal."
