Much like easy dresses and comfortable jumpsuits , I love a matching set that's sold together. It's like Garanimals for grownups. The retailer is taking all of the guesswork out of me having to put together an outfit. It's like the greatest gift, especially when I'm running late in the morning or feeling really indecisive.
Aldi clearly understands this dilemma and the beauty of a two-piece set, because they're dropping a really stylish one in three different colorways. Plus, it looks so similar to a name brand version that's a lot pricier.
The Serra 2-Piece Ladies Plissé Set comes in black, red and a black-and-white print, with a slightly cropped short-sleeved top and wide leg pants . Both pieces together cost just $12.99, which is a pretty remarkable price.

What's plissé, anyway?
If you aren't familiar with plissé, it's a type of fabric that has a crinkled or puckered texture, kind of like it's been lightly wrinkled on purpose. The texture is made by treating the fabric so some parts shrink and others don't, creating a permanent ripple effect. It's lightweight, doesn't really cling and often doesn't need ironing. That means it's great for tops, skirts and flowy pants. Dresses, too, of course.

Aldi's Plissé Set Twins With an ASOS Version
Now that you know what plissé is, you're going to start noticing it everywhere. In fact ASOS is selling a matching set (though the pieces are sold separately in their case) that looks almost identical to the Aldi version. Take a look.
ONLY Boxy Plisse Set in Black: T-shirt, $36; Wide leg pants, $54 at ASOS
This means that ASOS's plissé will cost you $90, compared to Aldi's $12.99 option. In fact, you could buy all three colorways of the Aldi set and still have money leftover than if you purchased the ASOS version.
It bears mentioning that ASOS shoppers really do love this outfit.
"Got this co-ord in black and green: super comfy, flattering and modest," one shopper said in her review.
Another person recommends sizing down if you buy on ASOS.
"Very nice material a little bit longer for a boxy t-shirt," they said. "Very oversized so after reading the reviews I went for an XS. I am normally 8 - 10 and this fits great. Oversized but not too much."
