What Would Your Dog Buy on Amazon?

One has to wonder what our dogs would buy if they literally had carte-blanche access to our Amazon account. For mine, I can see treats, toys, treats, snacks... oh, and did I mention treats?

Yes, hand a dog your credit card and access to the world's biggest online store, and sensible purchases go straight out the window. No poop bags, no flea combs, a quick scroll past those silly boots, and a great big no to those oh-too sensible leashes. Your pooch is dreaming big and methinks it's going to be something fun, tasty, or totally over the top.

So, what would cause your dog to tap "buy now" and then sit patiently by the front door waiting for delivery? We have some ideas...

A Human-Worthy Dog BedWhy ever would your dog settle for that small oval pad on the floor when you're sprawled out in a California King? I love this human-sized dog bed that corrects that injustice with an enormous cushioned lounging area that's roomy enough for stretching, snuggling, and afternoon-long naps. Oh, and you're welcome to join if you come bearing treats.

Dog Ice Cream MixKeep your paws off this one. Your good boy has patiently watched you open the freezer and come away with absolutely nothing for them, one too many times. This easy-to-prep, dog-friendly frozen dessert mix, turns treat time into a genuine event. Suddenly the after-dinner biscuit becomes dessert, which feels appropriate for birthdays, gotcha days, hot afternoons, and, in your dog's opinion, every single Wednesday.

A Soft Foam Ball PitOne ball is exciting. An entire pit filled with them is total nirvana for your dog. I love thinking about how my dogs would react to jumping into the soft-sided pit filled with lightweight foam balls. Why not make it interesting by tossing in their favorite toys or a few treats to get them searching? And for those ultra-high-energy pups, an automatic ball launcher will fling a tennis ball across the yard. Perfect for scratching that same high-energy itch while sparing your throwing arm. Note that supervision matters here, especially for dogs that may consider "ball pit" another way of saying "all-you-can-chew buffet."

A Variety Pack of Cookie-Style TreatsFull access to an Amazon account? The world is their oyster... or rather a variety pack of cookie-shaped dog biscuits is their oyster. A stash of single flavored treats score a big NO in my dog's book and the mix of tasty options found in this treat jar keeps things interesting. Changing the treat thing up on a daily basis is such a game-changer!

Their Own Little SofaOnce your dog discovers furniture shopping, well, a basic bed no longer cuts it. A leatherette pet sofa is what gives your pup an elevated spot to lounge, watch the cat, and puruse kitchen activity. I'm loving that it looks just like a real sofa in miniaturized form. Set it beside your own couch for binge-watching all your favorite TV shows. Of course, snuggles only happen with their human, so expect a little four-legged company from time to time.

** A Camera That Throws Treats** Maybe its one of those treat-tossing cameras your dog has been patiently coveting. Do they care if you're spying on them? Not if you're also tossing treats their way from time to time. Let's be honest, you think you're building a safe connection by observing your pet's activity level... they only see an over-sized treat dispenser. Mine would be swiping the "buy now" tab so fast your head would spin.

Bacon Peanut Butter TreatsYou had me at bacon. My dogs are seriously food-motivated and when you combine some of their top flavors, there's just no downside to this flavor-rich treat. Bulk purchases will likely be encouraged by your pet, but hey, the holidays are coming and aren't we always on the look-out for stocking stuffers.

Fun, whimsical, those seriously non-essential purchses are always essential in my home. The upside being that indulging our furry little buddy every so often is one of the easiest ways to elevate a ho-hum morning.
