LEGO Officially Reveals the 1,547-Piece Technic Aston Martin AMR25

Following up on the massive success of their McLaren and Mercedes F1 kits, LEGO has officially taken the covers off their next massive Technic Formula 1 release. And this time, the grid is going green.

As highlighted by LEGO news account @darthbeardbrix , fans can finally gear up for the 1:8 scale Aston Martin Aramco AMR25.

The Specs Under the Bricks

While the leaked tweet lists the set number as 43340, official LEGO data points to this actually being set 42240. Regardless of the numbering on the box, this build is an absolute heavyweight. Officially dropping on July 1, 2026, the kit packs 1,547 pieces and will retail for £199.99 ($229.99 / €229.99).

Just like the real-world F1 cars, LEGO hasn't skimped on the technical engineering. The colossal 61cm-long model features a fully functional drivetrain with a working differential, front and rear push-rod suspension, and functional steering. It even houses a two-speed gearbox that connects to a simulated V6 and electric hybrid engine system.

A Brutally Ironic Timing?

While the set itself looks like an incredible build for any motorsport collector, you have to admit the timing of the release is painfully awkward for the actual Aston Martin Aramco squad.

LEGO sets take years to design, prototype, and license, meaning this kit was greenlit long before the disastrous reality of the 2026 season set in.

As the real-life F1 grid gears up for Monaco, Aston Martin is currently suffering through an absolute nightmare campaign. Between a rotating roster of Team Principals and disastrous reliability issues with their new Honda powertrains, the team is currently sitting dead last in the Constructors' Championship with zero points.

Building a gorgeous $230 tribute to a car that is currently fighting at the absolute back of the pack might be a tough sell for casual fans, but pure LEGO Technic enthusiasts will undoubtedly snap this up just to complete their 1:8 scale F1 grid.
