In case you missed it, the winner of the 2025 Formula 1 season was undoubtedly McLaren—bringing home both the Constructors' and Drivers' championships. And while plenty of credit is due to the drivers—Lando Norris (the '25 champion) and Oscar Piastri—we can't forget about the machine that powered them to all that shiny hardware.
Lego surely didn't and has unveiled a 1:8-scale Technic re-creation of the MCL39, the car that will forever be enshrined in the history of F1. It's now available for you to pick up and assemble yourself.

While this set would look insanely rad on your best shelf, this isn't just some display piece to collect dust. Functional suspension and steering components pair with a movable differential and gearbox to make this a truly interactive piece in the spirit of all Lego Technic models.
The set keeps on giving, though, with an engine cover that reveals the V-6 when removed. Better yet, with that cover off and the model shifted into high gear, the Drag Reduction System (DRS) in the spoiler pops open for another race-realistic touch.
Every aspect of this build looks to be faithfully re-created, with everything from the moving parts to the livery and those Google Chrome–logo wheel covers (whether you love 'em or hate 'em).

"Bringing this podium-topping car to life in brick form was about translating real race‑winning engineering into a build that fans can actually feel," says Lego Technic model designer Andreas Jensen. "Together with the steering, suspension, and detailed livery, it's a hands‑on way to explore how performance comes to life in the MCL39."
Consisting of 1675 pieces at a cost of $230, this Lego Technic McLaren MCL39 (42228) is a serious build. But there aren't any purple sectors to chase when it comes to assembling Lego sets—take your time and enjoy the ride! Too bad you can't buy a companion Lego F1 trophy— you gotta earn those .
