Cleveland Browns Training Camp: Day 12 Recap
Deshaun Watson battles inconsistency and Jared Verse took his dominance a little too far, as the Cleveland Browns continue getting ready for their preseason matchup with the Chicago Bears

12 days down and just one more day till the Browns are off for a few, leading into their preseason match with the Chicago Bears, and we still have no clarity yet on who will be the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns come Saturday against the Bears.
That is to be determined.
We do know that the rotation of the competition continues.
Deshaun Watson's day on Tuesday with the first team, and it was kind of just more of the same for him.
There were some good moments, some good throws that looked sort of like vintage Deshaun Watson, and there were quite a few bad throws that were just off target.
Another interception added to his resume during camp as well.
Meanwhile, Shador Sanders working with the twos.
I thought he continued to look pretty strong when it comes to his ability to not force things and, and get rid of the football and check it down when needed and just take what the defense is giving you, and I think that's been something over the last few days in particular that has gotten noticeably better by him, and throughout camp has pr- he's made progress in that area as well.
But also, the procedural issues continued.
There was at least one series during 11 on 11s where they got to the line, couldn't get the snap off, got a delay of game, then had to huddle, broke the huddle, lined up in a formation that wasn't correct, and Todd Monken had to make them re-huddle yet again.
So, still continuing to work through some of those things.
We don't know yet what Todd Monken's decision's gonna be on who will start this first preseason game.
But we do know that these preseason games, the joint practice with the Bills, and, and the things that lie ahead are gonna be crucial in naming a starting quarterback for this team going into the 2026 season.
So we'll continue to watch it all unfold.
