He did in this game, going three for three in his first Major League start, showing off his potential.
Also had a walk as well, just really patient in the box.
What'd you see from him and his approach, Sean?
I mean, that's why I asked him- Sorry about my guys I'm like, "Does the guy have a heartbeat?"
Because he, he seemed pretty calm right now.
He seemed pretty calm in the box tonight.
he got a first pitch curve ball, he was all over it.
Then he hit a fastball, and then he got down two strikes in his last at bat, put a good at bat together and got another base hit on a fastball.
Walked on four straight pitches- Yeah Mets have been scared of him.
after, after what they saw the first two at bats.
And then I thought he caught a tremendous game behind the plate too.
Challenges a call late in the game with one challenge left, got Ryan Walker a strike out.
I don't think you can get a better debut than he had tonight.
Mm-hmm, a three-two count- Not a debut but- when they made that challenge not a debut, but first start.
Well, technically, yes- Yes first start Debut was yesterday Major League debut took place yesterday.
He subbed in the seventh inning, but pretty close to a Major League debut, just outstanding stuff there for the catcher Daniel Susac behind the dish.
and then when you look across this Giants line-up, the offense was so good in this game, Sean.
Was there anything that stood out to you about the onslaught that we witnessed with 13 hits across the board?
Well, well this is a guy, and Daniel Peterson's a left-hander.
The, this, this offense has struggled a little bit against lefties, especially last year, and they tattooed them tonight.
I mean- Yeah they had a ton of hard hit baseballs early in this game.
It looked like they were being aggressive early in counts.
he only threw 15 pitches in the first inning.
They scored three runs, almost, you know, had six or seven batters.
So that just goes to show you that how aggressive they were early, but they were hitting everything.
They were hitting his fastball, they were hitting his slider, they were hitting his curve ball, his change-up.
It didn't matter what he was throwing up there.
Any mistake they made, they were punishing tonight.
And this is a pretty good pitcher.
This was an all-star last year.
so impressive, outing tonight by the offense.
For sure.
Yeah, Peterson was good in his first start of the year as well, so this was not expected.

I mean, like I said, it, it doesn't When, when you, when you go out there as a pitcher and your offense gets you three runs early in this game, it allows you to just go out there and attack the strike zone.
Robbie Ray did that for the most part.
But I mean, coming home, especially after the first series that they had against the Yankees where they got one hit, didn't score a ton of runs, left on kind of a sour note, to come back home and give the team a, a Give the crowd Sorry, my earpiece is just crazy tonight.
give the crowd something to cheer for- Yeah against the other New York team, a team that's supposed to be pretty good this year, that's gotta feel pretty good for this offense.
And then now they can feel like they can play at home.

They can score runs at home, which we knew they could, it just took them- Right took them four games to do it
