The Wolves acquired LaMelo Ball after the NBA draft, pairing him up with Anthony Edwards in a crowded Western Conference.

But is that the best move for the Timberwolves' future and Anthony Edwards?

How many more early playoff exits does Edwards have in him before he asks out of Minnesota?

Tim Connelly and the Timberwolves have been aggressive to get as much talent to surround Anthony Edwards with through the years.

Karl-Anthony Towns, Julius Randle, Ayo Dosunmu at this past trade deadline, and now they go out and flip their roster around to add LaMelo Ball, another A-list star that can provide immediate depth in the backcourt and fill a position of need at the point guard position.

However, the Timberwolves lost a lot of size this off-season by trading Naz Reid and Julius Randle, which is surprising because the Western Conference is now controlled by two teams with size in the Oklahoma City Thunder and the San Antonio Spurs.

It's gonna be very interesting to see how the 26-27 season goes for the Timberwolves, especially considering that right now, based on how this roster looks, they're one Anthony Edwards injury away from missing the playoffs entirely and sitting near the bottom of the Western Conference standings.

I don't like this trade at all for the Timberwolves, and I feel like it's a last-ditch effort to try to get some help around Anthony Edwards.
