TCU Horned Frogs discuss some of their wide receivers
TCU Horned Frogs coach Sonny Dykes discusses some of their wide receivers. Dykes talks about Dozie Ezukanma and Terry Shelton, he talks about how they have had reps and opportunities. Dykes talks about how Ezukanma needs to step up and how they are ready for him to be their guy. Dykes talks about how Shelton's confidence grew from playing a little in the bowl game. Dykes also talks about how they need to find their guy on the field that everyone can count on and make the play.

How does the lack of an April portal window impact?
Um, not much, honestly.
I mean, I just think it's, it's, it's a steadying influence for everybody.
You know what I mean?
It's good for the players because now they just get to go out and practice and they don't have to.
Worry about whoever's in their ear telling them this or telling them that.
I mean, they just get to go and they get to play football and they get to try to be as good as they can be and improve and, and be a good teammate and and do all the things that that you want them to do.
And so I think it's good for them and that's really where the focus needs to be is on the players.
We can figure it out as coaches in an athletic department in a program.
You know, um, but it allows those guys to grow and to make mistakes and to, you know, to not have to, to tell, you know, a bunch of people all the time, no, I'm happy where I'm at, or, you know, all the stuff that, that sometimes we, we do to these young people, you know, because it's, it's hard on these guys all the time when, you know, when they know their situation, they know that what it's like to be in a program they have people externally that are always saying.
You know, you need to do this or you need to do that, and they don't really know what's going on.
And so it's good for the kids to be able to pay attention, focus, and, and really try to become as good as they can be.
Yeah, good, yeah, I like what I've seen, you know, I , I, they both have had opportunities, a lot of reps, they, that's what they needed, you know, um.
It's time for Dosey to step up and do what he's capable of doing.
He's been here now.
This is his 3rd spring, and we're ready for him to.
To become a bona fide guy because he's certainly capable of doing it and he's had a great mentality.
You know, he's really, really tried to do what he's supposed to do.
He's taken great pride in blocking.
He's played physical, um, he's competed hard for footballs when they're in the air, you know, he's done a really good job, so I've been really pleased with him.
And Terry's kind of been the same way, you know, very talented guys, both of them.
Um, you know, I think Terry's got an opportunity to play in the bowl game some, made a couple of plays.
I think his confidence grew from there.
Um, and both those guys are certainly capable of being really, really good football players, and we need them to be, you know, they, they're going to have to step up and be guys that we can count on.
And I think that's where, You know, if you said, what are you worried about offensively, I would say, you know, we got to find a guy to throw the ball to on 3rd down.
You know, that's been, that was Eric McAllister last year, you know, it was Jack Besh the year before, um, you know, JP the year before.
We need, we need somebody to become that guy that, uh, that everybody can count on, you know, the guy that, that we know can make a play.
And there's 5 or 6 guys vying for that spot, um, but we just got to get that consistent guy and, and he's got to, Start to emerge and Jaden's got to have confidence in him, and then we've got to be able to scheme around his strengths and ability to make those plays and, and, uh, you know, we're still looking for that guy.
The good thing is we've got 5 or 6 people that are capable of doing it.
I've been in situations before where you just go, OK, who can be that guy and you don't have anybody.
And the good thing is we have a number of players that can do it.
