I got a Yeah, I, I think just getting more comfortable, you know, I think that that what happens in spring football is you kind of throw everything at them and then you start to realize, OK, this is what the quarterback likes, and this is what we're good at, and these are the things that we can do, and then you start to narrow it down and, and really focus on, you know, developing the, the, you know, your personality as an offense.
And so, um, I thought he made some really good decisions with the ball.
Again, he took care of it.
He didn't put it in, in jeopardy ever.
Um, and, you know, went out and executed at a high level.
I thought he, you know, we converted some big 3rd downs on a couple of screens on the opening drive.
Uh, it was good to see us do that.
Um, you know, it's good to see us kick the ball well, but Kyle made the long field goal and then we missed the short one.
And so, you know, we've got to be a little bit more consistent in those things.
Um, but again, we're showing some promise and, and , um, you know, we just like I said, we just got to keep our head down and keep grinding.
When you look at the run game, a lot of long runs today.
Yeah.
It's, it's a combination of everything.
I mean, look, it's the offensive line creating a hole and it's a running back.
You know, making a good cut, but probably as much as anything else, if you're going to get a long run, it's going to be a wide receiver blocking.
You know, and I think that if you ask me offensively where we've made the biggest improvement, it's our wide receiver blocking.
Our mentality is so much better than it has been.
Uh, there's just a premium on guys playing that are going to block, and I think that.
They understand how important it is in this offense to be able to pop those long runs and so we have really, uh, Malcolm's done a great job of emphasizing that and it's just a, it's a big part of what this offense has to do is is take a lot of pride in blocking at the wide receiver tight end spot and being very physical, um, and, and just knowing who to block.
And and so when you go back and you look at the long runs that happened today, a big part of it was, I think every one of those were were sprung by a wide receiver block.
Uh, down the field.
And so, you know, to, to make this offense work and to, to , you know, to be great at running the football, you've got to have those big plays in the run game.
And so we've made huge strides as far as that goes.
