Niqueroからやってきたフォード製の乗用車が道に倒れていた木を避けようとして、マンサニージョからやってきたカミオンと衝突した。
亡くなった方はみな近くのNiquero市の住人で、Alexis Vázquez Pérez（29歳、乗用車の運転手）、Miguel Pérez Pérez（44歳）、María Esther Rodríguez Tejeda、の3名。
マンサニージョ在住の3名、Jorge Luis Marín Núñez、Carlos Maceo Tamayo (カミオンの運転手)、 Juan Torres Lebrigioは、Golfo市のHospital Celia Sánchez Manduleyに収容され、手当てをうけている。
Aniuska Moreno Rodríguez（15歳、Niquero市）はBayamo市のHospital Carlos Manuel de Céspedes に収容された。
