In heady days, Chung Mong-hun, far right, awaits champagne poured by the North's Kim Jong-il.
A senior executive of South Korea's Hyundai conglomerate leapt to his death from his office yesterday amid a probe into the secret transfer of millions of dollars by the Government to North Korea.
Chung Mong-hun, the chairman of Hyundai Asan Corp, fell from the 12th floor of Hyundai's headquarters in central Seoul after leaving several suicide notes, police said.
The 54-year-old son of Hyundai Group founder Chung Ju-yung was on trial for his alleged role in a scandal involving former South Korean president Kim Dae-jung's government, which is accused of sending millions of dollars to North Korea to secure a landmark inter-Korean summit.
