"Confirmation"The sacrament of confirmation is found in Bible passages such as Acts 8:14–17, 9:17, 19:6, and Hebrews 6:2, which speak of a laying on of hands for the purpose of bestowing the Holy Spirit. Hebrews 6:2 is especially important because it is not a narrative account of how confirmation was given and, thus, cannot be dismissed by those who reject the sacrament as something unique to the apostolic age. In fact, the passage refers to confirmation as one of Christianity’s basic teachings, which is to be expected since confirmation, like baptism, is a sacrament of initiation into the Christian life. We read: "Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment" (Heb. 6:1–2). This passage encapsulates the Christian’s journey toward heaven and gives what theologians call the order of salvation or the ordo salutis. It well qualifies as "the elementary teachings" of the Christian faith. The laying on of hands mentioned in the passage must be confirmation: The other kinds of the imposition of hands (for ordination and for healing) are not done to each and every Christian and could scarcely qualify as basic teachings that form part of the order of salvation. As the following passages show, the Church Fathers and early Christian writers also recognized confirmation as a sacrament distinct from baptism, even though it was usually given simultaneously with baptism. Their words speak powerfully about this anointing and imposition of hands for reception of the Holy Spirit and the role it has in Christian initiation.

The tango is lovely "longing" No one but a Finns could compose, perform, dance or understand a Finnish tango that way it should be done. If the music encyclopaedia's unadorned definition of a tango is also a portrait of the Finnish character, it is difficult to fight off the tears . "The melodies are always in a minor key and the lyrics tell of an unhappy love. The Finnish dance version of the tango is slow shuffling and dreamy swaying movements, a simple shuffling to and fro in a closed grip and close bodily contact with the partner." A proverb supports this grave image: "Even a snotty-nosed brat will become a man, but not a giggling idiot." It is true that Finns are often shy and reluctant to talk or laugh, much less touch other people.Perhaps the tango is an accepted, established way of expressing emotions, feeling the closeness of skin. Or was. The international influences pushing their way into the lives of the Finns from every direction seem to have greatly changed the picture. Now it's trendy to be open, bold and to be able to engage in small talk in cafés and nightclubs. But when one scratches the surface, does one nevertheless find the Finnish tango underneath? The tango came to Europe from Argentina in the early years of this century. 1913 was the great year of the tango, when a downright mania for the new fashion swept the dancing world. People arranged tango dinners, drank tango vermouth, ate tango sweets, smoked tango cigarettes, walked around in tango shoes and wore tango dresses. But the fashion disappeared as quickly as it had arrived. That's why I'm downhearted The history of the Finnish tango is completely different. The strange, exotic rhythm slowly absorbed the deep beat of Finnishness, became itself part of the Finnish essence. The writer Mika Waltari lost his heart to the tango, as a passage in his 1928 novel The Great Illusion reveals. "The tango is absolutely the most beautiful of dances- the exoticism of our lives finds expression in it, and there is music and passion in its slow swinging steps." However, it was only after the second world war that the Finnish tango found its own form. The war separated loved ones; longing, fear and hope were part of everyday life. Many of the tango songs written in those difficult days are still on the list of most popular evergreens. That's why I'm sad when I remember you now . plaintively sighs the singer of one of the immortal tangos. The tango can be seen as reflecting Finnishness also at a meeting place between cultures. Pirjo Kukkonen, an academic who has studied the matter, identifies numerous borrowed elements in the Finnish tango, the sounds of faraway Argentina, a German march style and the romantic longing of Russia. "It is a product of cultural fusion," she says, "but it contains a Finnish dynamic and identity. Our tango lyrics are as Finnish as could be. Nostalgic, melancholic words suit this music. They tell of momentary joy, being forgotten, consolation and new hope in metaphors drawn from the cycle of nature. They also outline a strategy for surviving everyday life. The basic rhythm, h or o time, can be interpreted as reflecting inner life, perhaps even heartbeats." International, urbane pop music drowned out the tango in the 1970s, at the same time as the flood of people from rural areas to cities was at its peak in Finland. Dance halls closed down in nearly every village, but the tango made a comeback the following decade and the halls reopened and were again filled with dancers of every age. The Finns could not, after all, learn to live without the tango. Nothing but tango for five days and nights An event that is certainly unique in the world has grown from love of the tango: a festival called the "Tango Market" that is held each year in the small town of Seinäjoki in western Finland. It attracted 18,000 visitors when it was first held in 1985, but no fewer than 1.6 million watched it one television.Every year since then, both the numbers flocking to Seinäjoki and those watching the tangos on the box have grown steadily: the 1998 festival drew 118,000 visitors to the town. Since the early years, international TV, radio and the press have been giving people in many parts of the world a sense of the intensity of Finnish tango mania. The festival is five days of tango dancing from morning to evening. The people in Seinäjoki say dancing makes for a better festival than, say, running bulls through the streets, as is done in the Spanish city of Pamplona during the famous summer festival there. At least the tango dancers have never trampled anyone to death. The crowds in the streets only add to the warmth and excitement of the atmosphere. Part of the tradition is the selection of a new "Tango King" and "Tango Queen" each year. The title guarantees a singer a big boost to his or her career. Many other tango-related contests likewise feature on the programme. One much-travelled visitor is said to have commented that the world now had two tango cities: Buenos Aires and Seinäjoki. There are certainly two tango countries. Argentina and Finland. Not even the biggest cities are being spared as the tango wave sweeps the country. The list of major annual festivals in the capital now includes a four-day "City Tango" happening, which took place for the first time in late May 1999. A world championship contest was part of the fun and the whole event was a big hit with the media.

Who is Yosa Buson"?Peony having scattered, two or three petals lie on one another."Buson"(1716-84).Leading haiku poet of the late 18th century and, with Basho (1644-94) and Issa (1763-1827), one of the great names in haiku. Also known as Yosa Buson or Taniguchi Buson. Also a distinguished BUNJINGA (literati-style) painter, he perfected haiga ("haiky sketch") as a branch of Japanese pictorial art.His best-known painting disciple, MATSUMURA GOSHUN, also known as Gekkei, founded the Shijo school.Early Career - Born near Osaka, as a youth Buson went to Edo (now Tokyo). For five years (1737-42) he belonged to a haikai linked-verse circle over which Hayano Hajin (1676-1742) presided. Here he learned the traditions of the Basho school haikai as transmitted by HATTORI RANSETSU and TAKARAI KIKAKU.After Hajin's death Buson spent much time around Yuki, north of edo, where he painted, practiced haikai, and worte Hokuju Rosen wo itamu (Elegy to the old poet Hokuju), the first of his innovative poems that foreshadow modern free verse.Buson also visited places in northeastern Japan famed in Basho's poetic diary, OKU NO HOSOMICHI (1694; tr The Narrow Road to the Deep North, 1966).Buson settled in Kyoto in the late 1750s. He was active in Mochizuki Sooku's (1688-1766) poetry circle and was also actively painting in the Chinese-inspired bunjinga style. By practicing both poetry and painting, he aspired to the ideals of the bunjin (Ch: wen-ren or wen-jen; literati) of China. One of Buson's commissions involved collaborating with IKE NO TAIGA on a landscape series based on Chinese poems, Juben jugi (1771, Ten Conveniences and Ten Pleasures), now a National Treasure. In 1770 he took the name of Yahantei the Second (Midnight Hermitage) for his studio. His haikai teacher Hajin was the First Yahantei. In painting, he used the names of Sha Cho-Koh, Shunsei (Spring Star) and others during his earlier years in Kyoto.Master of Poetry and Painting - Buson found his distinct voice partly from association with two dissimilar poets, TAN TAIGI and Kuroyanagi Shoha (d 1772), both of whom helped him develop his spontaneous and sensual style. Following their passing, Buson emerged as the central figure of a haikai revival known as the "Return to Basho" movement. In 1776 his own poetry group built a clubhouse, the Bashoan (Basho Hut), for their haikai and linked-verse gatherings. Buson also prepared several illustrated scrolls and screens, including the text of Oku no hosomich, which helped canonize Basho as a grand saint of poetry.Although Buson sought to emulate Basho, his own poetry is clearly different and versatile.Buson read classics extensively and studied different styles of Chinese and Japanese paintings.Poetry and painting affected each other in his art. His poems were, diversely enough, rich in imagery, clearly depicting fine movements and sensual appearances of things, dynamic with wider landscapes, lyrical, sensitive to human affairs, romantic with hidden stories, graceful, and longingly time-conscious.Buson completed his own style of painting in his later years when he was using the name of Sha-In.Freed from the influence of China, he created genuine Japanese landscapes.

"Welcome" to The Political Compass. There's abundant evidence for the need of it. The old one-dimensional categories of 'right' and 'left' , established for the seating arrangement of the French National Assembly of 1789, are overly simplistic for today's complex political landscape. For example, who are the 'conservatives' in today's Russia? Are they the unreconstructed Stalinists, or the reformers who have adopted the right-wing views of conservatives like Margaret Thatcher ? On the standard left-right scale, how do you distinguish leftists like Stalin and Gandhi? It's not sufficient to say that Stalin was simply more left than Gandhi. There are fundamental political differences between them that the old categories on their own can't explain. Similarly, we generally describe social reactionaries as 'right-wingers', yet that leaves left-wing reactionaries like Robert Mugabe and Pol Pot off the hook. That's about as much as we should tell you for now. After you've responded to the following propositions during the next 3-5 minutes, all will be explained. In each instance, you're asked to choose the response that best describes your feeling:Strongly Disagree, Disagree, Agree or Strongly Agree. At the end of the test, you'll be given the compass, with your own special position on it. The test is entirely anonymous.None of your personal details are required, and nothing about your result is recorded or logged in any way. The answers are only used to calculate your reading, and cannot be accessed by anyone, ever. The idea was developed by a political journalist with a university counselling background, assisted by a professor of social history. They're indebted to people like Wilhelm Reich and Theodor Adorno for their ground-breaking work in this field. We believe that, in an age of diminishing ideology, a new generation in particular will get a better idea of where they stand politically - and the sort of political company they keep. So are you ready to take the test? Remember that there's no right, wrong or ideal response. It's simply a measure of attitudes and inevitable human contradictions to provide a more integrated definition of where people and parties are really at. Click here to start. I love this chat to bits, I hope the same for you. Don't forget "above"Let's start together!!!Tomorrow, that's "sunday"Do you know this "chanson""Sombre Dimanche"(暗い日曜日)※原曲は1933年のハンガリーのRezso Seress作曲、J.MarezesとF.Eugene Gonda作詞の曲で、あまりにも不気味な曲で本当にこの曲を聞いて死んだ人もいたとのこと。

"復活"the Resurrection (of Christ). THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST"誰も描けなかった、真実ゆえの衝撃。

"五里霧中"be quite in the dark.「後漢書」(張楷伝)から。
