was curious manasinging family. How
good were they ? Would they appeal
to the broad public all over the
country ? Was there any money in
them ? Many of them left before the
last chorale sounded solemnly through
the air : “Jesu—meine—Freude !”

好奇心につられてやってきた音楽マネージャ
ーの一族だった．　彼らはみなトラップファ
ミリー合唱団の品定めに来ていたのでした．
「出来栄えはどうか？」とか「大衆受けする
だろうか？」とか「金になるだろうか？」な
どなど．そして彼らは最後の合唱曲が「イエ
ス、わが喜び！」という音声が響き渡る前に
退席してしまいました．
