〈About the Producer〉 While marketing fine wines from around the world, Trevor Sheehan spent nearly a decade studying winemaking under master vintners in Burgundy and Bordeaux. With the aim of creating a sensibly priced wine brand that reflects California’s distinctive flavors and essence, he founded Precision Wine Company in 2009. Starting with the sale of just four barrels of Cabernet Sauvignon, the company has since grown to manage more than 20 different brands. With meticulous attention to detail at every stage—from grape quality to packaging—Precision Wine Company offers a diverse portfolio of wines and has rapidly established itself as a fast-growing wine producer in California.
Cabernet Sauvignon 85%, Petite Sirah 15%. Aged for 12 months in a combination of new and used oak barrels. The wine has an impressively full-bodied structure typical of widely accessible California labels. The acidity is rounded, and the tannins are well ripened and smooth; however, despite its stated 13.5% alcohol, the alcoholic warmth feels more pronounced than expected. There is also a slight bitterness and a somewhat cloying persistence on the palate. On the second day, after being kept in a small bottle, the bitterness became more pronounced, making it less appealing to drink by the glass.
