Albany, NH

Albany is located on Route 16, just south of Conway. This small town oozes charm and has a photogenic personality!

According to the town's website "Albany is home to Mount Chocorua ,claimed to be the most photographed mountain in the northeast."  Oddly enough, the town gets its name from the celebration that honored the completion of the New York Central Railroad line to Albany, NY.

The town's famous covered bridge crosses the Swift River, near the Kancamagus Highway , the gateway to the White Mountains.

The World Fellowship Center in Albany has been in business for over 70 years, and promoted the study of current events and issues. They offer a stimulating series of lectures, programs and symposia that is jam packed with thought provoking topics. Lodging is also available.

Albany is also home to the Tin Mountain Conservation Center . Uniquely, the Nature Learning Center uses wood from 20 different local tree species in custom applications. Most of the the building utilizes wood cut and milled on the property or within a 15 miles radius. At about 8,500 square feet, the building generates 100% of its electricity needs from solar cells and is heated with a solar thermal array and a wood boiler burning on-site firewood.

If you like camping, pet friendly Pine Knoll Campground on Lake Iona has tent & RV sites, as well as cabins. A large variety of lodging and dining choices are nearby in Conway and North Conway (about 9 miles).
