Lisbon, NH
Just west of Franconia on Route 302, and situated on the Ammonoosuc River, Lisbon is a quiet town of about 1,600 people where gold, iron and other minerals were 
once mined. Years ago it was home to NH's first ski tow rope and the world's leading manufacturer of piano sounding boards. Today, in the spring, the town holds its famous Memorial Day weekend Lilac Festival

The town has an active Historical Society .
The John Stark Coffee House, Main and School Streets, offers coffee, breakfast and lunch. There are several other small restaurants in town, but alas, we couldn't find any reliable web site info for them.
The Bishop Farm and Cottages , 33 Bishop Cutoff, is a popular wedding venue, and has quality accommodations but is primarily a function facility. Their rooms are reserved for their wedding/reunion guests. Blueberry Farm Bed & Breakfast , 445 Route 302, a working blueberry farm, offers country style accommodations, and you can visit with their llamas and chickens and their pond often hosts great blue herons, ducks, otter, beaver and an occasional osprey.
Slightly off the tourist track, Lisbon offers a variety of activities, and great scenery.
