The town of Wentworth is located at the intersections of Route 25 and Route 118 at the southwestern tip of the White Mountain National Forest. It equidistant from I-93 and I-93, about 20 minutes northwest of Plymouth .

The town was settled in 1766, and gets its name from Governor Benning Wentworth . It is an appealing small town with colonial and Victorian homes, and an old fashioned town square, complete with gazebo.

The town benefitted from its location on the railroad, and abundant water power. Wentworth suffered severe damage by flood waters in 1856, which destroyed many areas of the town.

The Pine Haven Campground (Route 25) offers a large heated pool, tennis and basketball courts. Special activities are offered on holidays, and they provide a day-by-day list of scheduled events.
