'Cats Shutout Yard Goats

'Cats earn first shutout of 2017 with 11-0 drubbing of Hartford.

Hartford, CT - After being held scoreless for 22 consecutive innings, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats exploded for 11 runs on 19 hits to beat the Yard Goats 11-0 at Dunkin' Donuts Park on Saturday night.

Gunnar Heidt started the scoring in the third. The Murrells Inlet, South Carolina native took starter Jack Wynkoop deep for his sixth home run of 2017. Derrick Loveless followed the Heidt homer with a single and later scored on a Ryan McBroom RBI base hit with two outs in the inning.

Leading 2-0, New Hampshire put a season-high seven runs on the board in the fourth inning. All nine starters reached base in a frame where the 'Cats sent 11 men to the plate, chasing Wynkoop from the game with eight hits to go up 9-0. Richard Urena - who extended his hitting streak to a season-high nine games - and Harold Ramirez each plated a pair with singles in the inning, among other RBI base hits for New Hampshire.

Sean Reid-Foley turned in one of his finest outings of the season tonight. The Jacksonville, Florida product went six shutout innings, struck out eight and didn't walk a batter.

The Fisher Cats scored a run in the sixth after Danny Jansen doubled and came around on a Tim Lopes double, and a wild pitch plated a run for the 'Cats in the ninth to put them up 11-0.

Relievers Alonzo Gonzalez, Jose Fernandez and John Stilson handled the final three frames to secure the victory.

With the win, New Hampshire records its first shutout of 2017. 11 runs ties a season high and 19 hits is the most in a game for the 'Cats this season.
