NH Fisher Cats filibuster Senators on May 11, 2018.

Fisher Cats Deny Senators Any Vote.

Ahhh! Sweet Revenge

Romano makes history, Biggio keeps blasting in shutout win.

HARRISBURG, PA   [May 11, 2018] - Losing last night's squeeker the 'Cats were seeking revenge: they found their stride tonight! Jordan Romano made history for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays) with his sixth win in seven starts and the 'Cats bats provided plenty of pop to down the Harrisburg Senator (Nationals) 5-0 at FNB Field on Friday night.

New Hampshire got on the board first with a run in the third. Gunnar Heidt walked, advanced to third on a single from Ryan Hissey then scored when Jonathan Davis lifted a sacrifice fly to centerfield to make it 1-0 'Cats after three.

Jordan Romano was excellent in his seventh start of the season. The right-hander went 5.1 innings in which he blanked the Senators while allowing only three hits. He walked one and struck out five to become the first Fisher Cats pitcher to start a season 6-0.

The 'Cats broke it open with four runs in the top of the eighth. With a runner on third and one out, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was intentionally walked to bring Cavan Biggio to the plate. The Houston, Texas native launched the first pitch he saw over the wall in right-centerfield for a three-run blast, his second in as many days, that made it 4-0 New Hampshire. After Max Pentecost doubled in the next at-bat, Connor Panas singled him home to put the Fisher Cats up 5-0.

Danny Young and Kirby Snead combined for 3.2 innings of scoreless relief to secure New Hampshire's fourth shutout of the season. The win ends a three-game skid for the 'Cats.

Vlad Jr. was held hitless tonight, so his hitting streak will end at 16 games once the suspended game from April 29 is completed on July 17. It's the longest such streak for an Eastern League hitter this season.

Game three of the series is set for Saturday night.
