Top Sox prospect Devers homers twice, drives in three.

- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats fell behind early and never recovered Wednesday, falling to the Portland Sea Dogs 5-1 at Hadlock Field in the penultimate game of the series.The Sea Dogs took an early lead courtesy of the top Red Sox prospect (MLB.com). Rafael Devers took starter Sean Reid-Foley deep over the Maine Monster in left field for a two-out solo shot in the first inning that gave Portland a 1-0 advantage.A one-run third added to the Sea Dogs lead. Devers came through with two outs again, singling up the middle to score Danny Mars from second base to make it 2-0.Solo shots in the fourth and fifth added to Portland's tally. Michael Chavis hit the first pitch of the bottom of the fourth over the left field wall and Devers connected on his second home run of the game in the fifth frame to give the Sea Dogs a 4-0 lead.New Hampshire ended a scoreless streak of ten innings with a run in the sixth. Richard Urena doubled off the left-field wall and later scored on a Ryan McBroom single with two outs, cutting the Portland lead to three. It was McBroom's fortieth run batted in of the season.Trailing 4-1 entering the bottom of the seventh, New Hampshire gave up another run to Portland to fall behind 5-1 and lost by that score.Danny Young was the only Fisher Cats pitcher not to allow a run; he tossed a scoreless eighth in his third Double-A relief appearance.The series concludes Thursday night in Portland. RHP Jon Harris (2-8, 6.47 ERA) will go for the 'Cats while big league rehabber Eduardo Rodriguez (0-0, 0.00 ERA) gets the nod for the Sea Dogs. ►
