Loon Mountain Announces Their Spring Schedule

NH Recreation Articles: Loon Mountain Spring Schedule

Loon Mountain Spring Offerings 2016
The Mountain Stays Busy Thru Mid-April

LINCOLN, NH - Snowmaking continues this week at Loon Mountain Resort in preparation for a March and April filled with great skiing and riding and classic events. This spring will be especially sweet for guests who purchase their 2016/17 New England Pass in full, as they will be able to use that pass to ski or ride for the rest of this season, starting March 14.

While spring is a great time to save on season passes, it's also the time in the season when the events schedule really starts to heat up. A full events schedule is available at LoonMtn.com, along with the latest conditions updates, photos, and videos.

March 15 | Last Call
Last Call is the East Coast's largest and longest-running snowboarding event, and is a homecoming of sorts for New England's top pro and amateur riders. A $5,000 cash purse is up for grabs, with a challenging setup of next-level jumps, rails, and transitions.

March 19-20 | First Class Beginner's Weekend
For just $349, participants who enroll in this learn-to-ski program will pick up a new sport - and a FREE pair of HEAD skis, boots, and bindings! To reserve a spot in the program, call 800-229-LOON. Ages 13 and up.

March 20 | Cardboard Box Race
Here at Loon, spring doesn't truly arrive until kids start sledding downhill in cardboard boxes. Watch as kids glide down the mountainside in cardboard boxes they've transformed into helicopters, moose, and pirate ships.

March 20-24 | U.S. Paralympic Alpine National Championships
Loon, along with New England Disabled Sports, is honored to be hosting the 2016 US Paralympic Alpine Skiing National Championships and International Paralympic Committee Alpine Skiing North America races. Top racers from all over the United States will congregate at Loon for four days of Paralympic-caliber alpine racing in the slalom and giant slalom events.

March 26-27 | Droppin' In: Women's Freestyle Camp
This two-day camp is a great opportunity for women to take their park and pipe skills to the next level. Snowboarders and skiers will work closely with Oakley pro athletes, hone their new skills in a private park, and even get to build their own Oakley goggles. Ages 13 and up. (This camp is sold out.)

March 28 | Easter
Load the gondola and ride to the top of Loon Peak for an Easter sunrise service. Loon Mountain Ministry hosts a non-denominational service complete with stunning views, refreshments at the Summit Café, and first tracks down the mountain. Kids can follow up their sunrise service with a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed egg hunt.

April 2 | '80s Day
Celebrate the return of spring by reliving the best decade of the 20th century. '80s Day is a complete throwback party with a costume contest, morning exercise class, on-snow DJ, outdoor Bud Light bar, and so much more. It's all capped off with a legendary slopeside aprés-ski performance from '80s cover band Fast Times.

April 2 | Red Bull All Snow
This snowboard contest, inspired by concrete skate parks and hand-dug halfpipes, will challenge competitors to throw down various tricks on snow-only features placing an emphasis on flow and rhythm.

April 9 | Slushpool Party
A spring tradition here at Loon, the Slushpool Party is a magical event in which skiers and riders try (and most often fail) to skim across a pond of ice-cold water. Even more people can get in on the action this year with our new Tug-of-War tournament. The winning team will take home new SPY Optics.

2016/17 New England Passes
Skiers and snowboarders can make the most of of these fun spring events by purchasing their 2016/17 New England Pass in full before the snow melts. By paying for their pass in full now, they can use it at Loon, Sugarloaf, or Sunday River any day for the rest of the season. Or, they can lock in the lowest pass rates with the Easy Pay Plan: a $50 down payment by April 30 and pay the balance in four automatic installments over the summer.
