Gunnison Copper Corp ( TSX:GCU , OTCQB:GCUMF , FRA:3XS0 ) hosted US Interior Secretary Doug Burgum and Congressman Juan Ciscomani at its producing Johnson Camp Mine in Arizona, along with State legislators, county leaders and mayors.
The visit, held October 20, highlighted the Phoenix-based company's copper production and the growth opportunity at its flagship Gunnison Copper Project, Gunnison said in a statement.
Johnson Camp produces finished copper cathode with capacity of up to 25 million pounds annually, using Nuton technology from Rio Tinto. Gunnison said it supplies copper for Amazon Web Services data centers.
"Our team is already producing finished copper in Arizona," said Craig Hallworth, Gunnison's CEO. "We have the opportunity to build on that foundation through the nationally significant Gunnison Copper Project and make a much larger contribution to America's copper supply."
The event included the dedication of Gunnison Copper Patriots Plaza, a name chosen by employees to honor US military service. Burgum, Ciscomani and Hallworth took part in the ribbon-cutting.
Gunnison's March 2026 preliminary economic assessment outlined an open pit, heap leach and SX/EW operation with a net present value of about US$2 billion at an 8% discount rate and an internal rate of return of 23%.
The company also announced a planned one-time equity award with a target value of US$2,500 for each eligible permanent employee, to be granted as restricted share units vesting after 12 months. It also plans a voluntary Employee Share Purchase Plan offering a 15% discount to market value through payroll deductions, with the discount benefit capped at US$2,500 per employee annually.
Gunnison expects its Level II American depositary receipts to begin trading on the NYSE American on or about October 26 under the ticker "GUNN," with each ADR representing 30 common shares. The listing is not tied to an equity financing and will not result in new common shares being issued, the company said.
