Technip Energies NV ( THNPY ) jumped as much as 6% Tuesday as investors weighed a reported opportunity connected to SpaceX's expansion in Louisiana.

A BFM report identified the French engineering group as a potential contractor on a rocket-propellant plant that could form part of SpaceX's planned $100 billion Louisiana complex. The reported contract value is about $10 billion.

The proposed facility would draw on Technip Energies' experience with large-scale LNG infrastructure. Its concept reportedly modifies the company's 9.5 million-ton-a-year Commonwealth LNG project by switching the turbine technology to electric power.

SpaceX intends to use the Louisiana site to support its Starship program, with thousands of launches planned over time. The broader development could break ground next year, while the first launch is targeted for 2029.

The fuel plant itself is expected to be built within 36 months, according to BFM. A supplier decision could come Tuesday.

Winning the project could add a sizable new order opportunity for Technip Energies and support sentiment around its U.S. business
