Uniper SE said it is now offering electricity to companies that consume at least one million kilowatt hours (kWh) a year.
"In a challenging market environment, energy costs remain a key strategic factor, while volatile markets and complex procurement models make decision-making even more difficult", the German power and gas utility said in an online statement. "Uniper is therefore offering transparent, modular, easy-to-understand solutions for procuring power for businesses.
"It intends to simplify complex decisions and give mid-market companies easier access to professional procurement".
Nils Beenen, managing director of Uniper Energy Sales GmbH, said, "Mid-market companies are vital to the energy transition and Europe's economic stability. At the same time, many of these businesses find power procurement increasingly complex, with options that are difficult to compare. This is exactly where we come in: We make procurement more predictable, transparent, and strategically manageable".
In another expansion, Uniper has identified over 10 of its generation sites with suitable infrastructure to support co-located data centers.
Located near European data corridors, the projects have reached "an advanced stage of development", Uniper said in its statement of results August 11. "Additional financial investment decisions are expected in the remainder of 2026".

The expansion into data centers is in addition to its expected investment in Europe of around EUR 5 billion ($5.8 billion) between 2025 and 2030, the statement said. Uniper expects over half of the amount to go to Germany.
"A sharper investment focus, billions of planned investments in flexible generation, renewable energy and the expansion of the gas procurement portfolio underscore Uniper's key role in ensuring a secure, predictable and reliable energy supply for Europe over the long term", Uniper said.
Uniper sold 61.6 billion kWh of electricity in the first half (H1) of 2026, down from 65.1 billion kWh in the same six-month period last year. Its power purchases and owned generation in January-June 2026 totaled 62.5 billion kWh, down from 66.1 billion kWh in H1 2025.
"Thanks in particular to strong operating cash flow of EUR 1,982 million, Uniper's economic net cash position of EUR 4,548 million remains high", the company said.
Chief financial officer Christian Barr said, "Our balance sheet is strong - with roughly EUR 12 billion in equity and a solid net-cash position. This gives us the flexibility to finance our investment program on our own".
