Nine Mile Metals Ltd. ( CSE:NINE , OTCQB:VMSXF , FRA:KQ9 ) said a new drill hole at its Wedge Mine in New Brunswick's Bathurst Mining Camp intersected high-grade volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) mineralization.
Hole WD-26-15 returned 4.88% copper equivalent over 7.60 meters from 114.50 to 122.10 meters, followed by a second band of 2.89% copper equivalent over 1.20 meters. The company said the intersections are of true width and include 9.19% zinc over 3.00 meters, along with strong silver and gold returns.
The hole was collared at the southwest edge of the drill pattern and reached 131 meters. Mineralization consisted of pyritic VMS with visible chalcopyrite, galena and sphalerite.
"Every hole contributes to the overall deposit picture and this hole demonstrates the dynamic characteristics to this outstanding high grade deposit," said CEO Patrick Cruickshank.
All six holes reported to date have intersected strong VMS mineralization, including WD-26-14, which returned 5.09% copper equivalent over 14.15 meters, the highest grade of the program so far. About 11 additional holes from the first half of the 10,000-meter program remain to be reported.
The Toronto-based junior resource company also said that it has acquired two strategic claim blocks at its Nine Mile Brook Project.
The company has also acquired the Nine Mile Brook East and Muddy Lake South claim blocks, totalling 66 claims. Nine Mile Brook East covers 8.52 square kilometers along the project's eastern border, while Muddy Lake South covers 5.9 square kilometers along its southern boundary. Both were identified through a two-year geophysics program.
The additions lift the Nine Mile Brook land package to nearly 60 square kilometers and the company's overall portfolio to about 146 square kilometers.
Next, eight borehole electromagnetic surveys on perimeter holes will help guide a second drilling phase, starting with the western flank. A Phase 2 exploration program at Nine Mile Brook is planned for May 2027.
"With two drill rigs turning and an expanded Nine Mile Brook Project, we are positioning Nine Mile Metals for future successes," said president Jonathan Holmes.
