Power Metallic Mines Inc (TSX-V:PNPN, FRA:IVV1, OTCQB:PNPNF) has appointed engineering firm BBA to lead a preliminary economic assessment (PEA) of the Lion and Nisk Main deposits at its Nisk Project in Québec.

The study will assess mining and processing options, infrastructure requirements, capital and operating costs, and preliminary project economics, the TSXV-listed company said.

Substantive engineering work begins in October, with completion targeted for the first half of 2027.

The mine design and economic analysis will focus primarily on the high-grade Lion deposit. The company will also evaluate the appropriate role for Nisk Main once new metallurgical studies are completed, which is expected before year end.

Drilling at Lion Deeps, the down-dip extension below the current Lion resource, will continue in parallel, along with any resource development indicated by the ongoing study. The PEA's resource section could accommodate potential future growth.

"Appointing BBA puts strong engineering capability behind our next major milestone," said Terry Lynch, CEO of Power Metallic. "Its multidisciplinary capabilities, Québec presence and experience advancing mining projects through successive study stages make it well suited to lead the PEA."

BBA brings recent experience in the region, including PEAs and advanced studies for base and precious metals projects across northern Québec, covering both open pit and underground scenarios. Its teams have also supported feasibility, permitting and construction planning for gold-copper developments accessible via the same infrastructure corridor as Nisk, including the all-weather Route du Nord.

Environmental baseline work is progressing alongside the technical studies, with a second field season planned for 2027. Québec-based firm ethos stratégie has been appointed to support community engagement.

The PEA and the associated environmental, technical and community engagement programs are funded from Power Metallic's existing cash resources.
