Amazon ( NASDAQ:AMZN ) shares faced fresh scrutiny Wednesday after six senior executives sold more than $15 million worth of company stock in a single day.

Chief Executive Andrew Jassy made the largest sale, disposing of 20,000 shares for about $5.18 million. Senior Vice President David Zapolsky sold roughly $4 million, while AWS chief Matthew Garman sold about $3.76 million.

Chief Financial Officer Brian Olsavsky and Amazon Stores chief Douglas Herrington each sold approximately $1.6 million in shares. Vice President Shelley Reynolds completed the group with a sale worth about $607,000.

The transactions come during a month of elevated insider selling. Jeff Bezos disclosed plans to sell as much as $4 billion of Amazon stock earlier in August and had sold about $346 million worth by Wednesday, according to the report.

Heavy insider selling may draw investor attention, although the transactions do not by themselves indicate a change in Amazon's business outlook.
