Beijer Ref just released Q3 2026 numbers that tell a different story from the calm share price. The stock closed yesterday at SEK153.7, only modestly higher over the past month, while the refrigeration and air conditioning distributor reported SEK11,641m in sales and earnings per share of SEK1.71 for the quarter.
The main focus is profit quality. Earnings from continuing operations over the last twelve months reached SEK2,522m, with operating cash flow at record levels. This performance contrasts with market sentiment, which appears to be treating this as a routine quarter.

Beijer Ref bullish story meets hard Q3 evidence
The optimistic narrative leans heavily on Beijer Ref turning regulation and product focus into repeatable earnings power.
"The main factor that needs to go right is that Beijer Ref continues to execute on proprietary products, digital tools and value-added services, so that recent margin resilience in regions such as EMEA, APAC and North America proves repeatable rather than a one-off."
Q3 points in that direction. Group EBITA rose broadly, the adjusted margin reached a record 11.9% for a third quarter, and EMEA printed a record 12.3% EBITA margin. OEM order books are healthy and natural refrigerant capability expanded through Refra. APAC margins improved despite flat organic sales, which backs the idea that efficiency and own products are doing more of the work than pricing alone.
Bearish execution risks around North America and M&A
The sceptical view is that expansion and deal activity could quietly erode earnings quality if integration drags or volumes stay soft.
"The North American business still faces the risk that post acquisition integration and ongoing branch expansion dilute profitability for longer than expected, especially as new locations typically drag on margins for around 12 months and underlying HVAC volumes in the U.S. have recently been weak, which could weigh on future earnings and group net margins."
Q3 does not fully confirm that concern. North American sales rose 30%, helped by Enertrak and other additions, while organic growth of 3% suggests the market is at least stable. Management still describes U.S. replacement demand as muted and continues to invest in branches and private label, so the integration and margin risk remains live even as group profitability looks solid today.
