Cloudflare( NYSE:NET ) fell on November 5, 2026, along with the rest of tech. It slid as much as 10% intraday to $238.71, then closed at $244.51. That evening, co-founder and CEO Matthew Prince opened the earnings call by saying, "By nearly every metric, we had our best quarter ever."
The selloff went well beyond Cloudflare. The Invesco QQQ Trust( NASDAQ:QQQ ), the ETF that tracks the Nasdaq 100, closed at $647.05, down 9.55% over one week. Over the same week, Cloudflare fell 21.2%.
After the report, the stock rose 14.72% after hours to $280.51 as of 7:59 p.m. ET. By our calculation, that still leaves it about 24% below its 52-week high of $370.35.
Shareholders now face a question. Does a beat and raise this large support a $78.93 billion market value while investors are selling high-growth software?
What Cloudflare Reported and What It Only Forecast
Revenue was $782.5 million, up 39%. Analysts had expected $736.8 million, and the company's own August guidance was $736 million to $737 million. Non-GAAP EPS came in at $0.38, against a $0.34 estimate.
Non-GAAP operating income reached $137.1 million, a 17.5% margin. Under GAAP accounting, however, Cloudflare still lost $67.9 million from operations and $34.1 million net, or $0.10 a share.

The rest is guidance, which is a forecast. Full-year revenue guidance rose to $2.963 billion to $2.964 billion, up from $2.864 billion to $2.870 billion in August. Fourth-quarter guidance of $845 million to $846 million is well above the $798 million consensus. CFO Thomas Seifert said the company expects to be profitable on a GAAP basis in the fourth quarter, "significantly earlier" than the 2028 deadline it set at its investor day.
Customer Numbers Back Up the Demand
Dollar-based net retention rose to 122%, from 120% last quarter and 119% a year ago. Net retention compares what existing customers spend now with what the same customers spent a year earlier, so a higher figure means they are buying more.
Remaining performance obligations are revenue customers have signed for, but Cloudflare has not yet recognized. They reached $2.877 billion, up 34%. The current part, which is revenue expected over about the next year, grew faster at 37%, a sign that near-term demand is strengthening.
More than 5,000 customers now pay over $100,000 a year, up 25%. Seifert said the extra revenue came from "a long tail of customers" and was not tied to a single large deal.
Agentic Cloud Claims Still Need Proof
Prince said, "We're the first agentic cloud." As evidence, he pointed to a one-year, $11 million Workers contract with an unnamed AI company. Workers is Cloudflare's platform for developers. Because the contract runs for one year, whether it renews is still an open question.
Seifert also said Workers has "slightly lower gross margins." GAAP gross margin fell to 71.2% from 74.0%.
The sales organization is also changing leaders. Christian Smith becomes President of Revenue, succeeding Mark Anderson, who retires at year-end and will stay on as an adviser.
What Cloudflare Investors Need to Track Next
Growth sped up, customers are spending more, and the raised guidance is well above what analysts expected, so the quarter's results likely have more weight than a selloff that hit the whole sector.
The risk is the price. A $78.93 billion valuation for a company just past $3 billion in annualized revenue has $4.4 billion in convertible notes, leaving little room for a slip.
Two results would test this quarter. If the stock closes below the November 5 low of $238.71, the market has rejected this quarter. If the fourth-quarter report, whose date has not been announced, shows no GAAP operating profit, Cloudflare will have missed its own forecast.
