A pair of earnings beats is pulling battered AI cloud stocks into a relief rally. Cloudflare( NYSE:NET ) stock is at $293.43 in morning trading, up 20%. Through the prior session's close, the security and developer platform was down 17% over the past month.

Sharing the spotlight is IREN( NASDAQ:IREN ), a graphics processing unit (GPU) cloud provider. IREN stock is at $20.81, up 15%, rallying after a steep drop in the prior session amid broad tech selling. Over the past month through the prior session's close, IREN stock was down 50%.

Cloudflare Beats and Lifts Its Outlook

Cloudflare reported Q3 2026 results after the close on November 5. The company's revenue rose 39% year over year to $782.5 million, ahead of the $738.3 million consensus, while its adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.38 beat the $0.34 consensus. CEO Matthew Prince called it "Cloudflare's best quarter ever."

For the full year, Cloudflare now expects revenue of $2.963 billion to $2.964 billion and adjusted EPS of $1.35. Guidance from Cloudflare calls for fourth-quarter sales of $845 million to $846 million, above what analysts had expected.

Profitability concerns haven't gone away. Under generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), Cloudflare's net loss widened to $34.1 million from $1.3 million a year earlier, weighed down by $174.1 million in stock-based compensation.

IREN reported Q1 FY2027 results after the close on November 5. The company's revenue climbed to $228 million from $137 million in the prior quarter, while its adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of $66 million exceeded forecasts. Sales in IREN's AI Cloud segment jumped to $200 million from $71 million.

On the bottom line, IREN's net loss narrowed to $263 million from $684 million in the previous quarter. Since quarter-end, the company has signed a five-year contract at $22 million per megawatt, with the customer prepaying 90% of the related GPU capital costs. A separate short-duration contract carries a rate of $40 million per megawatt.

CoreWeave Rallies With the Reporting Names

Gains are spreading to pure-play GPU cloud providers, including CoreWeave( NASDAQ:CRWV ). CoreWeave stock is at $48.07, up 10%, though its latest earnings report dates to August 11. That gain trails Cloudflare and IREN, suggesting company results are adding to a sector-wide bounce.

Over the past month through the prior session's close, CoreWeave stock was down 48% as concerns about its debt load pressured CoreWeave bonds. Investors are also watching Nebius Group( NASDAQ:NBIS ) and Cloudflare's closest edge network peer, Akamai Technologies( NASDAQ:AKAM ).

Hot October Jobs Report Lifts Risk Appetite

Risk appetite got a lift from the October jobs report. The U.S. added 165,000 jobs, far above what economists surveyed by Bloomberg expected.

Unemployment ticked down to 4.1% and September was revised up to 60,000 from 29,000. Economists surveyed by Bloomberg had forecast monthly wage growth of 0.3%, and October's reading came in at 0.4%.

How Cloudflare's Model Differs From GPU Cloud Peers

Cloudflare sells security, networking and developer tools from its global edge network, and Prince now markets it as the first "agentic cloud." That subscription model is far less capital-intensive than building GPU clusters.

IREN owns the land, power and data centers under its business, much of it converted from crypto mining, which management says lets it pace spending to funding conditions. CoreWeave runs a debt-financed GPU cloud for AI labs, hyperscalers and enterprises. Nebius runs a full-stack AI cloud on its own data centers, while Akamai is a legacy content delivery network operator shifting toward cloud infrastructure and security. All of that expansion still has to be powered, cooled and networked by someone, which is the angle we took in a free report on seven AI infrastructure suppliers behind the data centers.

Can Strong Results Turn the AI Cloud Bounce Into a Recovery?

Cloudflare faces the challenge of converting accelerating demand into durable profits, with management expecting GAAP profitability in the fourth quarter. For IREN, the key question is whether more than $4 billion in annualized revenue run rate comes online by January 31, 2027, a target that may slip to the end of February.

Rising contract prices, customer prepayments and Cloudflare's fastest revenue growth in nearly four years give bulls reason for optimism. IREN's $6 billion in planned capital spending still to be funded, CoreWeave's heavy debt and Cloudflare's lower free cash flow margin give the bears plenty to argue. Market participants can watch for signs that the bounce reaches beyond the two reporting companies. Keeping your share exposure smaller could be a wise policy until the AI cloud funding question resolves.
