Constellium (CSTM) Stock Faces Q3 Earnings Reality After Record EBITDA

Trade CSTM on Coinbase

Constellium came into this Q3 2026 earnings print with a stock that had cooled in recent months, down about 13% over the last quarter, and it slipped another 1.7% to about US$24 after the release. The reaction looks cautious, yet the headline story is record profitability for an aluminum products specialist that lives and dies on margins. Adjusted EBITDA reached a third quarter record of US$276 million and free cash flow hit US$128 million, which strengthens a balance sheet that still carries meaningful debt and keeps the valuation debate very much alive.

Constellium's Bull Case Hinges On Recycling Payoff

Bulls argue Constellium can turn heavy investment into lasting earnings power by lifting mix quality and cash generation.

"Constellium is investing over US$100 million each year in recycling and casting projects at Muscle Shoals, Neuf Brisach and Ravenswood. This can deepen access to low cost scrap and open up more closed loop contracts with packaging and automotive customers, supporting structurally higher segment margins and cash conversion."

Q3 results give that claim real backing. PARP delivered record adjusted EBITDA with a clear scrap spread and recycling benefit, while group free cash flow of US$128 million and raised 2026 EBITDA guidance show those assets already helping cash conversion, not just sitting as work in progress.

Constellium Bear Case: Execution Risks Still Unproven

Bears argue Constellium's heavy capex could fail to translate into reliable cash generation and that complex projects may disappoint.

"Although Constellium is investing about US$100 million of return seeking capex in 2026 into aerospace and recycling projects that target high internal rates of return, execution risk at Muscle Shoals, Ravenswood and related casting assets remains."

Q3 shows part of the thesis still untested. Neuf Brisach and the third Airware casthouse are reported on budget and contributing. However, key sites like Muscle Shoals and Ravenswood remain in build out rather than full run mode. Elevated 2026 EBITDA guidance leans on these plans, so any construction delay or underperforming ramp would hit future, not current, numbers.

Hunt For Mispriced Cash Machines

Constellium just reported a solid quarter while its share price still reflects caution. The real opportunity is focusing on stocks that may be undervalued before more investors recognize the potential.

  • Company 1 - 36% below our estimate - uses new high horsepower engine capacity, HELM platforms and power projects to deepen exposure to data center buildouts.

  • Company 2 - 32% below our estimate - scales AI superclusters for a leading model provider that needs huge, resilient compute alongside existing cloud commitments.

  • Company 3 - 50% below our estimate - folds a major aviation acquisition into its aftermarket platform to push higher margin engine repair and component programs.
