Investing.com -- Entain PLC (LON:ENT) shares fell over 3% on Monday after the sports betting and gaming group said Brazil's provisional ban on online betting would push its 2026 core earnings towards the lower end of guidance.
The company retained its full-year 2026 underlying EBITDA guidance of £910 million-£960 million and online underlying EBITDA margin target of 21%-22%, but now expects to be towards the bottom of both ranges if the ban remains in place for the rest of the year.
Brazil's provisional measure, published on Sept. 25, immediately withdraws operators' authority to offer online sports betting and gaming.
The measure requires Congressional approval within 120 days to remain in force, leaving the longer-term outlook uncertain.
Entain now expects full-year online net gaming revenue growth of 4%-6% including Brazil, compared with its previous 5%-7% target. Excluding Brazil, it expects growth towards the top end of the 5%-7% range on a constant-currency basis.
Brazil was expected to contribute about 5% of Entain's 2026 online net gaming revenue, although the company had previously flagged a modest earnings contribution from the market given intense competition and challenging trading conditions.
