Over the nearer term, the one-year base target is $211.25, meaning 8.7% upside. The model gives a confidence score of 0.9, rated high.
The analyst consensus target is $208.97, with 1 Strong Buy, 19 Buy, 9 Hold, 1 Sell and 1 Strong Sell ratings. JPMorgan Chase( NYSE:JPM ) weighed in Thursday: JPMorgan named Palantir a favorite stock and forecast a rally.
Three Growth Engines Behind the Target
Revenue Growth Is Accelerating
Second-quarter revenue reached $1.935 billion, up 93% year over year, which management called its highest growth rate ever. U.S. commercial revenue rose 149% to $764 million.
Management raised full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $8.15 billion to $8.158 billion, which meaning 82% growth. The company has now exceeded EPS estimates for nine consecutive quarters.
A Deep Backlog of Signed Deals
Palantir closed 220 deals worth $1 million or more and 73 worth $10 million or more in the quarter. Total remaining deal value rose 83% to $13.1 billion, and net dollar retention reached 157%.
Chief Executive Alex Karp laid out an aggressive goal: "I am driving the business to grow at a rate equal or above to what we have in U.S. commercial for the next 18 months."
Defense Spending Still Has Room to Grow
U.S. government revenue rose 90% to $809 million. Even so, Palantir's trailing Department of War revenue was "less than 25 basis points of the Pentagon's budget," according to the company's chief technology officer.
The company also guides to adjusted free cash flow of $4.5 billion to $4.7 billion for 2026, so it can fund that expansion from its own cash.
Risks That Could Shrink Your Stake
Valuation is the biggest threat to these projections. Palantir trades at roughly 279 times trailing earnings and 216 times free cash flow, and its forward P/E is about 95x. The model's forward-earnings valuation alone produces a price of $170.45, below where the stock trades now. The stock also swings hard: its beta is 1.6, and shares hit $133.02 in February 2026.
Other pressure points:
-
Stock-based compensation of about $265 million in the second quarter dilutes shareholders.
-
International commercial revenue grew just 26%, and the U.S. accounts for over 81% of revenue.
-
Management warned of "a significant ramp in expense in the third quarter" that could squeeze margins.
-
Long sales cycles, termination-for-convenience clauses and AI regulation add uncertainty to the outlook.
If growth slows down from its current pace, a multiple this high leaves little room for error. Riding a mania like this is fine as long as you plan the exit, and we covered both sides in a free bubble survivor's handbook. The bear case models this scenario, where $10,000 falls to $9,631.
Your $10,000 Range Over Five Years
Over the five-year period closest to 2030, the model puts a $10,000 Palantir investment anywhere from $9,631 in the bear case up to $15,169 for the bull case, with $13,830 as the base case.
The next marker to watch is third-quarter revenue against guidance of $2.16 billion to $2.164 billion. Every one of these is a scenario, and none is guaranteed. This is a projection for informational and research purposes only.
