Nvidia ( NASDAQ:NVDA ), Micron ( NASDAQ:MU ) and Advanced Micro Devices ( NASDAQ:AMD ) shares moved higher in Wednesday morning, tracking gains across the semiconductor sector after strong results from South Korean memory-chip maker SK Hynix lifted investor sentiment.

Nvidia shares rose 0.8% on the opening bell, while AMD climbed 1.5%. Micron stock rose more than 4%. SK Hynix reported record quarterly profit that exceeded expectations and outlined more than $25 billion in dividends and share repurchases, supporting optimism across the AI chip industry.

These U.S. chipmakers operate in a market where demand for AI computing infrastructure is driving investment in advanced processors and memory. Nvidia supplies AI accelerators used in data centers, while AMD competes in the market for data-center processors and AI chips.

The broader semiconductor rally also included gains among memory suppliers and chip-equipment makers. Investors may look to upcoming company results and updates on AI-related spending for further clues about demand across the industry.
