On its second quarter fiscal year 2026 through 2027 earnings call, held on Oct. 28, 2026, Sify Technologies(NASDAQ:SIFY) reported a 31% revenue increase driven by rapid expansion in data centers and long-distance network infrastructure. Building physical capacity to house artificial intelligence computing requires heavy upfront capital, but securing long-term tenant contracts shields the balance sheet from unexpected drops in utilization. Three things management said stand out.
1. Data Center Supply Deficits Drive Favorable Pricing
Indian demand for data center power outpaces local construction capability, letting infrastructure providers command higher lease rates without alienating enterprise tenants. Management is leveraging this imbalance to convert a 113-megawatt contracted backlog into high-margin revenue over the next three quarters.
The industry demand is in far excess of the supply which is available. And the given this scenario, there is no pressure on pricing. In fact, the pricing is getting better, and the returns are also improving.

2. AI Compute Demands Accelerate Long-Distance Fiber Expansion
Hyperscale cloud operators and enterprise clients need dedicated, high-capacity fiber routes to connect scattered computing facilities across India. Building out national long-distance fiber networks creates a proprietary connectivity backbone that converts basic data hosting into sticky digital infrastructure.
And as I mentioned during my address, the network expansion which is happening is largely now for enabling AI workloads to be carried. Across the length and breadth of the country. And that is one of the reasons why we are seeing growth.

3. Existing Land Holdings Secure Long-Term Expansion Potential
Data center expansion often hits walls when firms struggle to acquire suitable land parcels near major urban hubs. Secured land holdings across seven major Indian cities give the company room to expand total design capacity far beyond current projects without needing additional real estate acquisitions.
We should be able to do more than 1 gigawatt with the land bank which we have across 7 cities.

Looking Ahead
Data infrastructure buildouts across major Indian tech hubs show no signs of cooling, and corporate digital upgrades are transitioning from discretionary projects into core operational requirements.
What was once digital transformation agenda is now becoming a business imperative. With organizations investing in technology to improve productivity, resilience, and the customer experience.
-- Ananta Koti Raju Vegesna, Chairman
A multi-city land bank and an integrated network footprint provide durable protection against new market entrants. Management focuses on capital allocation and project timing to maximize long-term shareholder value across connected digital assets.
SIFI is well positioned to support India's digital transformation. And the opportunities emerging from an increasingly connected and AI-driven future.
