SSH (HLSE:SSH1V) Stock Price Slides As Q3 Results Keep Losses In View

SSH Communications Security Oyj just reported Q3 2026 and the headline is simple. Revenue held at €5.7m while losses narrowed slightly, yet the share price came into the release on a weak footing after falling about 16% over the past month.

The real story sits in the recurring engine. Subscription annual recurring revenue inched up to €15.7m and deferred revenue climbed to €14.4m, which indicates that a larger portion of future sales is already contracted. The market focused on red ink today, while the fundamentals directed attention toward the invoicing and subscription trend instead.

SSH subscription thesis passes key early checkpoints

The bullish story assumes modern privileged access and data sovereignty trends translate into stickier recurring sales for SSH Communications Security.

"The move toward modern privileged access models, including zero standing access and password free environments, aligns tightly with PrivX. PrivX is already architected for automated, keyless, cloud and hybrid access, so wider adoption of these models could support higher subscription revenue and annual recurring revenue."

Q3 shows that thesis starting to bite. Subscription ARR reached €15.7m and subscription sales were €3.9m. PrivX grew 33.9% and invoicing climbed 39.2% with deferred revenue at €14.4m, giving more evidence that contract value is building ahead of reported sales.

Execution and niche product risks remain visible

The more cautious view worries that heavy spending and narrow product markets hold back operating leverage.

"Expansion has required sizeable investment in people, with more than 20 hires across the U.S. and other regions and over 40% of resourcing spend going into R&D. If new sales do not scale fast enough, higher operating costs could keep EBIT in loss making territory and limit improvement in net margins."

Q3 results give this concern real weight. SSH Communications Security stayed loss making at operating level despite higher net sales. EBITDA was €0.3m and operating loss was €0.5m while management signalled EBITDA for 2026 will remain negative, even as ARR and invoicing grow.
