Texas Capital swaps Nasdaq for Texas Stock Exchange as first company

A Dallas-based financial services firm has decided to move from the Nasdaq to the Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE), making it the exchange's first corporate listing.

Texas Capital Bancshares Inc., the parent company of Texas Capital, announced on Sept. 14 that it will transfer the primary listing of its common stock and its 5.75% non-cumulative perpetual preferred stock series B to the Texas Stock Exchange LLC from the Nasdaq Stock Market LLC.

"After completing our successful transformation into the only full-service financial services firm founded and headquartered in Texas, bringing Texas Capital's corporate listing home to the Texas Stock Exchange is the logical next step as we concurrently expand access to the global capital markets in Texas and beyond," said Rob Holmes, chairman, president and CEO of Texas Capital.

Texas Capital stock will continue trading on Nasdaq through market close on Oct. 7, with the company expecting to start trading as a TXSE-listed company when the market opens on Oct. 8.

Its common and preferred stock will begin trading under the ticker symbols "TCBI" and "TCBI PRB," respectively and stockholders need to take no action during the transfer.

On Nov. 9, the company said it expects to change its ticker symbols to "TXCP" and "TXCP PRB," respectively. Texas Capital and the stock exchange are also set to host a closing bell ceremony in Dallas that same day to commemorate the move.

"Texas Capital is the first home-grown, full-service financial services firm in the state of Texas, and we are proud to welcome their primary corporate listing home to the Texas Stock Exchange," said TXSE chairman and CEO James Lee.

Wall Street stocks were little changed early Thursday, lingering near records amid hopes for a resolution of the US-Iran war as markets continue to shrug off economic effects. Both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq finished at records Wednesday as analysts pointed to an expected surge in equities if a peace deal is reached and to US bank earnings that showed American consumers remain healthy.
