Twilio (TWLO) Stock Price Sinks As Q3 Earnings Raise Growth Doubts

Trade Twilio on Coinbase

Twilio shareholders woke up to a shock. The stock slumped about 15% to roughly US$205 in the first full trading session after Q3 2026 numbers hit, wiping away a chunk of recent gains in a single move.

The headline print told a different story. Twilio reported about US$1.56b in quarterly revenue and record non GAAP operating income of US$326m, plus record free cash flow of US$370m. This marks a powerful shift for a business long judged on growth more than profitability. Short term traders focused on the price drop, while long haul investors will be weighing how those cash and profit trends stack up against the current valuation and multi year earnings forecasts.

Twilio's AI Mix Shift Starts To Show Up In Cash

Twilio's bullish story hinges on higher-margin AI and software taking a bigger share of the revenue pie, not just more message volume.

"A key factor is that Twilio continues to convert its early traction in AI-native customers, multiproduct wins, and self-serve channels into durable, higher-margin gross profit growth while managing carrier fee headwinds."

Latest results give that idea some backing. Software add ons grew faster than the group, Branded Calling and Conversation Intelligence are reported at very high growth rates, and self serve revenue rose more than 30%. Non GAAP gross profit increased, even with lower headline margin from extra US carrier fees, and operating income and free cash flow reached record highs.

Twilio Bear Case: AI Scale Meets Growth Slowdown

Bearish views argue Twilio's AI use cases might stay niche and fail to support broader, high margin usage.

"Although AI voice and conversational agents are gaining traction on Twilio's platform, there is a risk that current high growth examples represent a narrow set of early adopters and that broader enterprise rollouts fail to reach similar scale, which would leave usage driven revenue and associated software margins below what recent voice and AI driven results might suggest for future earnings."

Q3 shows strong AI influenced voice and software trends. However, Q4 organic revenue guidance of 11 to 12% and the sharp 15% share price drop signal investors already questioning how far that adoption really spreads.

Hunt Quiet Disconnects In AI

Twilio just reported strong cash generation in the same quarter as a sharp price move. The real opportunity is learning about stocks that could be undervalued before the market adjusts.

  • Company 1 - 47% below our estimate - builds AI powered ad tools, business messaging and devices supported by heavy data center investment.

  • Company 2 - 22% below our estimate - supplies electrical and communications contractors completing large data center projects for cash rich customers.

  • Company 3 - 37% below our estimate - tightens freight matching and carrier vetting using AI tools to reduce fraud and insurance claims.
