Q & A Highlights
Q: Can you share the yields across equity, hybrid ETF, and liquid for the quarter? Also, why is there no noncontrolling interest line item this quarter? A: The yield for equity and hybrid funds is around 72-73 basis points, ETF and index funds are around 8 basis points, cash and arbitrage funds at around 12, and fixed income funds at around 20 basis points. The noncontrolling interest is zero because we no longer consolidate the balance sheet of certain AIF funds due to changes in our stake and returns.
Q: What is the impact of SEBI's new exit load rules on your margins? A: There is no impact on our margins from SEBI's new exit load rules as we have passed on the impact to our intermediaries.
Q: How are the net flows in your equity schemes, particularly Flexi Cap, Large Cap, and Mid Cap? A: There has been some redemption pressure in the Flexi Cap category, but Large and Mid Cap funds have seen positive inflows. SIP inflows in the Flexi Cap fund have been encouraging despite overall negative net sales.
Q: What is the outlook for your international business given recent pressures? A: The international business is facing challenges due to negative sentiment towards India and performance issues. However, we see this as cyclical and expect interest in India to return, providing opportunities for growth.
Q: Can you comment on your strategy to diversify focus away from top equity and hybrid funds? A: We are focusing on pushing gross sales across a range of funds rather than just a few flagship schemes. This includes strategies like Large and Mid Cap funds, which are seeing significant traction.
Q: What are the unique selling points (USPs) of UTI AMC that you want investors to recognize? A: We emphasize our 60-year legacy, long-term focus, strong processes, and engagement with investors. We aim to be a trusted brand that meets investor needs over the long term.
Q: What are your target customer segments, and how are you engaging with them? A: We target first-time and young investors, focusing on digital engagement to resonate with younger cohorts. Our digital marketing efforts aim to make UTI a recognized brand among new investors.
Q: What is your growth outlook for this year, and how do you plan to address market share loss? A: We have a robust product pipeline, including passive and active investment offerings. Addressing market share loss involves improving performance in larger strategies and leveraging our diversified product suite.
