Tyler Winklevoss, the billionaire co-founder of cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, has a message for ambitious students.

In a post on X, Winklevoss urged young people to look into Grove City College, a small Pennsylvania institution with deep roots in Austrian Economics — a free-market school of thought he says aligns with Bitcoin's core principles.

"If you've been shut out by DEI and other toxic policies that have destroyed 'higher' education, check out Grove City College," he wrote. "It has a big tradition in Austrian Economics, the same principles embedded in Bitcoin, and believes in merit and American values."

Winklevoss's comments came in response to the school's launch of a new merit-based President's Scholarship Program. Beginning in 2026, high-achieving first-year students — those with a 3.5 GPA and top-tier test scores — will be eligible for an annual $7,500 award, renewable for maintaining strong grades.

Winklevoss and his twin brother Cameron first rose to fame in the early days of Facebook, famously suing Mark Zuckerberg over the social network's origins. They later pivoted to Bitcoin in 2013, investing early and building Gemini into one of the most prominent U.S. crypto exchanges. Today, Forbes estimates their combined net worth in the billions.

His latest advice to students isn't about buying Bitcoin or launching a startup — it's about picking an environment that, in his view, rewards hard work over ideology.

"Opportunities built on merit create the same foundation as sound money — value earned, not granted," one X user responded to his post, echoing the sentiment Winklevoss has been pushing for years.
