C3 Metals Inc (TSX-V:CCCM, OTC:CUAUF) said on Thursday it has expanded drone-based magnetic and gravity surveys at its Khaleesi copper project in southern Peru by more than 65% after the initial work identified multiple coincident anomalies.
The surveys were expanded from 900 to 1,500 hectares after identifying broad copper-bearing magnetite skarn zones under glacial till.
The main Khaleesi skarn corresponds to a 500m by 600m magnetic and gravity anomaly, while a second, potentially larger anomaly has been partially mapped about two kilometres to the northeast, where geological mapping confirmed another large-scale magnetite skarn.
The expanded surveys, currently underway in the northeast project area, aim to capture the full extent of that anomaly. Additional coincident anomalies have also been identified to the southwest, south and southeast.
C3 CEO Dan Symons said the combination of magnetics and gravity "has proven extremely valuable at targeting copper mineralization hosted in magnetite skarns" below the glacial till cover.
"This new data shows impressive, sizeable anomalies," Symons said, adding that drilling is continuing to expand the known mineralized zone at Khaleesi, with a goal of testing newly identified targets in the fourth quarter.
Surface mapping and soil sampling continue across the broader project area and are expected to wrap up in Q4. The company is also planning geometallurgical work to assess extraction methods and recoveries for copper, gold, silver, molybdenum and iron.
