Cracker Barrel has announced that it is dropping its new logo and returning to the "Old Timer" after receiving backlash from customers and politicians.
"We thank our guests for sharing your voices and love for Cracker Barrel. We said we would listen, and we have," the company wrote in a statement provided to MassLive on Wednesday. "Our new logo is going away, and our 'Old Timer' will remain."
The restaurant chain originally unveiled a new logo on Aug. 18 as part of a new campaign, "All the More," featuring country music star Jordan Davis.
The new logo differed in that it no longer featured the image of a man seated next to a barrel, which had represented Cracker Barrel since 1977.
The restaurant chain received fierce reaction from many, including President Donald Trump, who then congratulated Cracker Barrel on changing its mind.
"Congratulations 'Cracker Barrel' on changing your logo back to what it was," the president wrote on Truth Social . "All of your fans very much appreciate it. Good luck into the future. Make lots of money, and most importantly, make your customers happy again!"
Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-TN, wrote a response via X saying, "Kudos to their team for making a great decision and may many happy memories and delicious meals continue for the next generation."
Reuters reported that after the business originally changed its logo, Cracker Barrel's stock took a hit, falling as much as 13% by midday on Aug. 21. As of around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the company's stock rose 8.5%, according to Yahoo Finance .
