Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. ( HNHAF ) reported a 35.5% year-on-year increase in January revenue, a result that could point to continued resilience in demand for servers built around Nvidia (NVDA) chips. The company, widely known as Foxconn, posted revenue of NT$730 billion, or roughly $23 billion, for the month. Management cautioned that the year-on-year comparison may be influenced by calendar effects, as the Lunar New Year fell in January in 2025, potentially distorting the base. Even so, the figure arrives amid a period of heavy global investment in AI infrastructure.
Hon Hai plays a central role in the AI hardware supply chain, manufacturing the servers that house chips used in data centers. That exposure has positioned the company to benefit as large US technology firms, including Meta Platforms ( NASDAQ:META ) and Amazon.com ( NASDAQ:AMZN ), continue to deploy billions of dollars into equipment needed to train and operate AI systems. These investments have persisted despite growing discussion around possible overcapacity and lingering questions about how quickly AI spending can be translated into sustainable revenue streams.
Looking ahead, Hon Hai is projected to report a 28% increase in sales for the three months ending March, suggesting momentum tied to AI-related infrastructure could continue into the current quarter. For investors, the latest update may reinforce the view that near-term demand linked to Nvidia's ecosystem remains intact, even as debate continues around the longer-term economics of large-scale AI deployment.
