Though the British rock band Coldplay has so far only brought people together through their soulful music, the latest controversy at their concert near Boston seems to be causing havoc in the lives of a few individuals.
As always, traders on the crypto-based prediction market, Polymarket, latched on to the episode.
Here is what happened at the concert.
As Coldplay performed at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on July 17, a camera captured Astronomer CEO Andy Byron embracing the tech company's HR head, Kristin Cabot. As soon as the duo realized their faces were beamed onto the screen, they immediately rushed to hide their faces.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin quipped, "Oh what... either they're having an affair or they're very shy."
Now, it turns out the CEO is married to Megan Kerrigan, who has dropped the Byron surname following the controversy around her husband allegedly having a relationship outside the marriage.
$200M traded on Polymarket
Polymarket traders have so far bet more than $2 million on Byron being out as Astronomer CEO by next Friday.
Launched in 2020, the Manhattan, New York City-headquartered Polymarket is the world's largest prediction market. It lets traders place bets on a number of events, such as crypto prices, political phenomena, economic news, sports, entertainment — or the unlikely outcome of a music concert, in this case — using cryptocurrency.
99% of the Polymarket traders bet on him not surviving the episode, and it turns out they were right.
On July 19, Astronomer issued a public statement that Byron has tendered his resignation and cofounder and chief product officer Pete DeJoy will serve as the interim CEO until the company finds its new CEO.
A data intelligence company, Astronomer provides tools to help organizations manage and streamline complex data workflows. Byron has been the CEO of Astronomer since July 2023 and also sits on the company's board.
